I wasn’t overly impressed with the initial movie, but I found this installment enjoyable. The story shifts its setting to London. It brought back memories of the 80s film 'Poltergeist', specifically the second one. However, it's not a carbon copy; only certain scenes involving the house feel comparable, while the narrative itself is distinct. They claim it’s based on a real event, as stated at the beginning, but you don’t have to take that at face value—if you’re seeking entertainment and willing to suspend disbelief for a couple of hours, you'll find it here. A family with four young children and their mother residing in a London home has recently experienced some significant paranormal occurrences. The eleven-year-old daughter seems to be most affected by the spirit inhabiting the house. Consequently, the American couple from the first film is brought in to assist the family as best they can. When they attempt to communicate with the spirit, they don’t receive the answers they were hoping for. Instead, suspicion falls on the girl, and the family's trust begins to erode. Resolving these misunderstandings, especially uncovering the truth, leads to a surprising development before the story wraps up. The film’s length of one hour and twenty minutes never felt excessive because there's consistently something happening that keeps the audience involved. It might not be the scariest horror movie you see this year, but as a horror-themed production, it incorporates familiar elements in a way that feels somewhat new. I have to acknowledge the writers for that. Furthermore, the acting was certainly strong, including from the child actors. In my opinion, this is a stronger horror film, and I’m eager to see another one. Hopefully, it will meet your expectations. _7.5/10_
