Positioning Roy within a space station setting seemed potentially problematic, but the resulting film proved even more disappointing. The Cloverfield Paradox feels like a hurried and formulaic production, lacking sufficient development to properly connect its various elements. It borrows from Alien, incorporates aspects of The Philadelphia Experiment, and includes nods to several other well-known science fiction films. There's even an attempt at humor inspired by Evil Dead! Combining these influences with a title designed to appeal to horror fans simply reinforces the impression of a cheap imitation. Netflix, it would be best to abandon this approach and consider this a final mistake.
