After his wife leaves for a short trip, “Clay” (played by Clay Tatum) is perfectly content to set up a mattress in front of the TV and relax! He works as a photographer and while exploring the city, he runs into "Whit" (Whitmer Thomas), someone he knew from years prior. Their relationship is somewhat strained, but Clay remains civil, and they spend a day together that ends with an unexpected discovery! It turns out “Whit” isn't exactly who he appears to be. Naturally, doubt arises, but a discussion with his neighbor confirms the worst – no one else can see "Whit"! What follows are amusing sequences of increasingly frustrating experiences as Clay tries to continue his life while this persistent and demanding companion annoys him—particularly when his wife comes back! Maybe a few days in an isolated mountain cabin could resolve things? While it relies heavily on dialogue and some situations do feel repetitive, the film remains entertaining, full of oddball charm, and features two likeable performances from the lead actors who manage to steer clear of predictable supernatural tropes. The movie’s conclusion provides a clever explanation for what happened earlier. It's unlikely you'll recall it later, but it’s a pretty fun story about an eccentric man and his unusual companion.
