I found myself liking the performers in 'The Christmas Train,' but the story itself wasn’t engaging. The narrative felt increasingly difficult to enjoy, especially given how predictable the conclusion turned out to be. If you’re searching for a Christmas-themed movie centered around a train journey, there are considerably better options available—like 'The Polar Express' or even 'Last Train to Christmas.' Kimberly Williams-Paisley delivers what I consider her strongest performance yet within the Hallmark universe. Dermot Mulroney and Danny Glover also do well, although his character felt rather uninspired. Joan Cusack is in it as well. The rest of the actors are acceptable; typically, these kinds of films feature noticeably weaker acting, but this one feels consistently good. The problem is that the storyline didn’t keep me interested, and I was quite bored throughout—it's not terrible, exactly, just underwhelming.
