It’s sad to say that this one didn't live up to expectations. I really liked the initial movie, however 'The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two' isn't nearly as strong. Kurt Russell is still pleasant to watch, though not quite as captivating as he was in 2018. It’s good to see him and Darby Camp back, along with Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Judah Lewis. Tyrese Gibson, Jahzir Bruno, and Julian Dennison join the cast this time around. I like Tyrese from the *'Fast & Furious'* series, but he doesn't get much to do here; when he appears, his performance is very relaxed. Bruno is acceptable, while Dennison’s work varies – there are a couple of decent scenes for him. Goldie Hawn has more screen time in this installment. The elves remain excellent, and the special effects are good overall. I think they tried to be more imaginative with the story than they did previously, but it doesn't quite gel—it just isn’t as festive as the first one. The musical sequence also falls flat. It almost manages to be a decent film, but something feels slightly wrong.
