It’s interesting to see how this movie has been received. It isn't based on an actual person or event, and while it wasn't terrible, it also didn’t blow me away. The story was fine, and the acting was decent, but there was a somewhat inspiring message woven throughout. Sports are often about achieving medals, though that focus shifts eventually as athletes reach the end of their careers for different reasons. But there are other ways to utilize your abilities, such as mentoring or supporting younger athletes; that’s essentially what this film explores, and I did enjoy it. What stood out was how much it resembled a biographical movie, even though it isn't one. The script seemed well-crafted, but the storyline felt quite predictable, particularly the romantic elements which came across as old-fashioned. The sports sequences were more engaging, however. The humor was just average. I thought the sex scene was really good; maybe a bit excessive, but the gymnastic movements were skillfully presented. I appreciated the portrayal of the father-daughter relationship. It wasn't emotionally charged with profound conversations, but seeing a parent advocating for their child’s independence was quite touching. It definitely falls into the category of a female-oriented film, and both actresses playing the lead roles were excellent. The gymnastic routines were very impressive, although it was clear stunt doubles were used for some of them. It had a good length and beautiful locations. Considering this was a low-budget movie filmed in just about a month, the production quality was remarkable. Overall, it’s an entertaining film, but disappointing that it didn't perform well at the box office. I wouldn’t call it one of the greatest sports movies ever made, but I think it’s worth watching; you might be pleasantly surprised after giving it a chance. 7/10
