This film gets a lot correct, however, the immersion that’s characteristic of found footage films is undermined by the inclusion of traditionally filmed scenes mixed with the handheld camera work. I might have rated it more favorably if that wasn't the case, but as presented, it doesn’t truly qualify as found footage. Despite this, there are some fresh ideas present regarding the nature of the curse and its mechanics, alongside familiar frights commonly seen in this subgenre. It isn’t on par with films like Noroi, Cult, or Occult; nevertheless, it's good to see found footage being produced outside of Japan. This allows for movies inspired by regional beliefs and stories to emerge.
