It’s an okay film, nothing I feel compelled to revisit, and it’s hard to suggest it to others. Going in, I wasn't anticipating much because I'm not particularly fond of Jennifer Aniston or Gerard Butler, even though there were some enjoyable supporting performances and the antagonists provided a few laughs. My initial viewing didn't change my mind about that. The majority of the story involves those two characters constantly undermining each other as they examine their connection, which generates some humor. However, it felt like an action-oriented variation on "Duplex," and I found their collaboration in that film more engaging than watching them pitted against one another here. I suspect anyone who’s been through a divorce will likely appreciate the first portion of this movie, at least. The predictable attempts at reconciliation and the characters' general unpleasantness ultimately detract from my enjoyment. Because I never connected with either character, I don't feel invested in their fate or whether they experience any positive outcomes.
