A group of friends, each carrying their own set of relationship problems, gather at a remote cabin after a decade apart. Following a quick look around, they discover a board game that demands their full focus; otherwise, a crossbow will eliminate them one by one. They are all initially terrified, particularly as two of them are quickly removed from the game—perhaps they had some insight into what was coming—but eventually, they come to believe that cooperation might be their only chance for survival. What follows is simply chaotic. The film seems determined to include every imaginable character type in a drawn-out hundred minutes, and it ultimately fails to connect. I found myself rooting for the would-be killer after about twenty minutes, wishing he'd just finish off the group more quickly. There’s an ending twist that could have been effective if I had any investment in whether they lived or died, but even that felt designed to hint at a possible sequel! It doesn't manage to be humorous or scary, and I was relieved when the movie ended.
