This romantic comedy feels like _While You Were Sleeping_, but it's unlike anything else because the narrative is drawn from actual events, not written for entertainment. It recounts Kumail Nanjiani’s personal experience of meeting his wife and it’s deeply affecting. Kumail and Zoe are both excellent, however, Holly Hunter and Ray Romano really carry the film’s emotional weight. They're fantastic together, and every scene involving them alongside Kumail during Emily’s coma is remarkable. I’d happily watch this movie again immediately—it’s quite draining because it’s an emotionally intense experience; I probably wept around four times while watching. It’s consistently impressive how reliably good Holly Hunter always is, and I hope she receives awards recognition for her work here. It genuinely touched me. The line "_Do you mind?_" that she delivers to Romano before they share a bed at the film's conclusion was such a lovely glimpse into her character.
