This film feels like a complete success to me. The performers are all excellent and memorable. The pacing is well-managed and completely absorbing. I was drawn to the subject matter—the global economic crisis of 2008. It clarifies complex aspects that most people, even those who suffered greatly because of it, wouldn’t understand. Beyond those technical specifics, the four central characters offer distinct philosophical perspectives on what happened: Michael Burry embodies realism and objectivity, with an awareness of historical patterns. Ben Rickert and his associates represent a belief in Murphy's Law. Jared Vennett expresses skepticism toward large corporations. Mark Baum holds onto a sense of fairness, even when it goes against financial interests. Ultimately, I wholeheartedly suggest seeing it.
