I grew up with the animated _The BFG_ from 1989, so I was looking forward to seeing Steven Spielberg’s adaptation. However, it doesn't seem like this story works well when adapted into live action. Or perhaps those involved simply weren’t able to focus the storyline effectively. Regardless, what we get is a movie filled with small, charming reminders of my childhood that never quite coalesce into something truly worthwhile. _Final rating:★★ - It had elements I liked, but it didn't come together well._
