I’m completely devoted to this one; I adored the book and enjoy the film as well, however... Let's be clear: this is an undeniably biased rating. The movie wasn't ideal for Leonardo, not because of any shortcomings in his performance, but simply because a different type of performer would have been better suited. Ewan would have been perfect. And truthfully, it could have benefited from being closer to the book’s content, though Danny did a wonderful job bringing difficult-to-adapt stories to life; consider Trainspotting, which proved to be an excellent film despite how baffling it seems to adapt on paper. The video game sequence felt out of place and should have been cut—I appreciate the attempt at originality, but it simply didn’t fit. Perhaps a 100% rating was excessive, yet even with those reservations, it's a genuinely entertaining movie featuring a fantastic soundtrack and strong performances.
