Following a failed robbery where Dave left Kenny to face jail time, the brothers are reunited with their mother after four years. Initially, things appear to be settling down; Kenny even seems willing to let go of his past resentment toward Sylvie, who now has a child and works as a dancer at a nightclub. However, tensions soon resurface between the brothers. Kenny discovers the identity of Sylvie’s child's father, reacts angrily, and then finds their situation worsened by a confrontation with some intimidating men, resulting in an accidental death. Consequently, they both lose their jobs and are forced to seek help from Stef, an ex-inmate, and his friend Joyce at a secluded rural property to dispose of the body. As they navigate this predicament, the brothers’ relationship deteriorates further, leading Dave to question Kenny's reliability. While director Robin Pront attempted some narrative variation, the film felt gritty and dark at times, and Janssens delivered an acceptable performance as Kenny. The rest of the movie, however, didn't quite measure up; the dialogue felt unnatural and forced, the direction was choppy, and it ultimately relied on the unusual personalities of Stef and Joyce to inject a bit of individuality into what otherwise proved to be a rather bleak conclusion. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I can’t imagine wanting to see it again.
