I went into this film not expecting much, given Netflix’s history of releasing unremarkable original movies, but it ended up being one of their stronger offerings. What struck me most was how easily I became invested in the characters; it’s a genuinely touching story. The actors seemed to be playing familiar roles, yet they still managed to give performances that felt significant. While the visual effects and production values were standard for Netflix, even if no single element stood out, the movie as a whole really worked well. It's the combination of the script and the cast’s good work that makes it so enjoyable. Walker Scobell was particularly impressive in his depiction of a younger Ryan Reynolds.
