This is an excellent motion picture undermined by decisions made behind the scenes. If you want the complete and most satisfying presentation, make sure to see James Cameron’s take on the story, featuring the aliens as well. The theatrical version was a mess. *The Abyss* demonstrates that it's possible to create a large-scale action film that succeeds completely without any objectionable language!
