What time is it, Kitty Kat? That Darn Cat! comes from Disney Productions and was directed by Robert Stevenson. After a Siamese cat named DC is discovered wearing a watch, one of his owners, Pattii Randall (Mills), contacts the FBI with the suspicion that it might be connected to a kidnapping case. What follows is a series of events where people and the cat attempt to figure out what’s going on while trying to evade those responsible... That Darn Cat! is simple, lighthearted entertainment from Disney, essentially like watching an animated cartoon in live action. Aside from the impressive work with the cat—particularly how they captured its reactions—there's nothing particularly groundbreaking technically. That isn't necessarily a bad thing; it’s straightforward fun for children to laugh along with and adults to enjoy. Some of the acting might feel overly sweet or sentimental, and the plot is admittedly goofy, but it's sincere family-friendly content that also benefits from appearances by Ed Wynn and Elsa Lanchester in smaller roles. It earns a 6.5/10.
