Three couples—Raj (Bobby Deol) and Sanjana (Sonam Kapoor), Vikram (Irrfan Khan) and Shivani (Rimi Sen), and Yogi (Sunil Shetty) and Maya (Celina Jaitly)—seemingly live tranquil lives, but Maya harbors suspicions about her husband’s fidelity. She enlists the services of a private investigator named Kishan to uncover the truth; he's described as successful, clever, and someone people readily trust. It isn’t long before Kishan discovers that Yogi is on the verge of being exposed by his wife, prompting Raj and Vikram to intervene, which subsequently makes them subjects of investigation. He then realizes that all three men are unfaithful to their spouses. Feeling compassion for Sanjana's distress, he resolves to exact retribution upon them. Anees Basmee has a reputation for Bollywood comedies frequently centered on marital difficulties, drawing inspiration from the style of French Vaudeville playwrights. I typically find his films only moderately entertaining, but this one stands out due to its clever portrayal of the cheating husbands as both foolish and deserving of blame. The initial portion focuses on Kishan’s efforts to gather evidence of their guilt, which then shifts to a depiction of the wives seeking payback for their husbands' betrayal. A particularly commendable aspect is that the wives are presented as more than just angry women; they genuinely experience emotional distress due to the deception and react in believable ways. The performances are remarkable across the board: Akshay portrays a shrewd individual who is touched by the pain of the betrayed wives, the three friends attempt to maintain appearances with absurd lies that lead them into awkward predicaments, and the wives display realistic emotions given the circumstances. Even Rimi Sen, often remembered for her provocative role in *Dhoom 1*, delivers an impressive performance. Celina shines as the heartbroken friend who can become fierce when required, while Sonam embodies a timid, gentle woman who is crushed by events. It's a genuinely pleasant film to watch.
