A confrontation between a police officer and an evil scientist! It’s the ultimate showdown! This felt like your typical Indian movie, but what really set it apart was the quality of the script. That's the biggest difference you’ll notice. The story centered around a cop-thief conflict, similar to the Korean film 'Veteran'. At first, I wondered if it might be a remake of something from Korea, because it had that thriller feel common in Korean cinema. But when I found out it was an original work, I was surprised. You see, the director has earned a nickname – "Remake Raja" – because he's known for bringing Telugu blockbusters to Kollywood. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, and I don’t mind remakes; he’s certainly done well with those projects so far. The performances were excellent, especially Aravaind Swamy in the villainous role, who really stood out, as everyone has been saying. One of the best things about it was how they kept the musical score to a minimum. Usually Indian films are full of unexpected and unnecessary songs and dance numbers, but that wasn't the case here, except for one instance I recall. The two-and-a-half-hour runtime felt long, but that’s pretty standard for an Indian film, and it was definitely worth the time. It wasn't always easy to guess what would happen next, although there were a few moments where you could anticipate the scene ahead. It might be amazing for audiences in India seeing it for the first time, but on a global scale, it’s just above average with some familiar elements. There were a couple of twists, and the ending was really good; it seems like a sequel could happen. My only regret is that they missed an opportunity to make this film more realistic, like 'Unnaipol Oruvan'. They chose instead to tell it in a way that would appeal more broadly to audiences. If you're familiar with Indian cinema or enjoy watching those kinds of films, you’ll likely find this one great. I was impressed by the film’s advertising campaign and it did well at the box office. Now it’s being remade in a few other languages, and I hope they do just as well. The brothers—the lead actor and the director—have worked together on many projects before, but this one feels particularly special and could be a turning point for their careers. So you might want to check it out if you haven’t already seen it. I'm not calling it a masterpiece, but if you know Indian films, then you’ll appreciate how unusual it is. 7/10
