The unexpected turn in *Texas Chainsaw* requires viewers to accept something pretty unbelievable, and it's likely too far-fetched for many. I went in knowing what to expect from a *Texas Chainsaw Massacre* film, and I actually found myself enjoying it more than some of the previous installments. However, the idea that Leatherface is somehow an injured party was simply ridiculous. The main character discovers she’s related to him and then starts feeling compassion and wanting to take care of him? That's after he sliced one of her friends in two right before her eyes. It happens after he attempted to kill her, got her boyfriend murdered, and dismembered another friend. I don’t have high hopes for these movies generally, but that was a stretch too far for me to buy into. They should just keep Leatherface as the chainsaw-wielding villain instead of trying to portray him as someone who's been wronged.
