It's undeniable that effort was put into this film. The actors included are giving it their best, and there were doubts about one of them beforehand, but attempts to create a worthwhile _Terminator_ follow-up have been unsuccessful for decades—longer than I’ve been alive. Perhaps the solution is for studios to simply cease trying to make these kinds of movies altogether; not stop making good films in general, just abandon the _Terminator_ franchise. Final rating:★★½ - There were aspects that resonated with me, but it didn't fully gel.
