It's a significant step up from 2002’s *Tarzan & Jane*—this feels like a real continuation. It's remarkable what can be achieved when there’s an effort, isn't it Disney? *Tarzan II* doesn’t quite reach the level of the original movie from 1999, but this third film in the series (despite the title suggesting something else) is genuinely good. There's a through-line to the story, even though it takes place earlier on, and Glenn Close (as Kala) and Lance Henriksen (as Kerchak) both appear, along with Phil Collins contributing music. The basic storyline is straightforward, but it still provides an enjoyable experience. It has warmth and substance, as well as some good humor. It could be better, but I can certainly appreciate what it offers. This is a welcome return to the world of Tarzan, which is more than can be said for its earlier installment.
