Having been saved from a tiger, "Tarzan" is taken in and raised among gorillas. As he matures, he develops connections with the surrounding wildlife and eventually integrates into the gorilla family, though not without some initial hesitation from their leader, “Kerchak.” Then arrives a group of British explorers hoping to observe gorillas, and Tarzan meets “Jane,” sparking a romance. Their guide, "Clayton," proves treacherous; his plan is to capture the apes and sell them in Europe for £300 each, leading to a vibrant and dangerous clash between cultures. The animation style feels somewhat basic, with sharp lines, but the characters are well-developed. It’s more than just a romantic story with a predictable conclusion—the film follows their individual growth as they expose one another to their vastly different lives. Strong voice performances from Brian Blessed, Minnie Driver, and Nigel Hawthorne contribute to the movie's energy and brisk pace, along with several memorable songs by Phil Collins.
