I’d been looking forward to seeing this film for a while, but I wasn't certain about it, wondering if it would be similar to Frog Prince (which I haven’t finished watching). Even though I was exhausted – I had slept in and then woke up early because Matt and Toby were coming over to play Wii – and I was short on funds, I still wanted to see the movie mainly to give Matt something to enjoy. It turned out to be worthwhile; I genuinely enjoyed it. It felt like a traditional Disney film: there’s a princess, her romantic interest, an animal companion, and, most importantly, music! What stood out was that the princess wasn't your standard Disney character. Rapunzel seemed capable and energetic; she didn’t have the usual shy and refined demeanor I remember from my childhood. Flynn Rider was also quite appealing, which definitely helped. The animal characters, Mascal and Maximus, provided some laughs. Overall, I liked this movie a lot and would suggest it to anyone.
