Taken 3 attempts a different approach for the series, moving away from the standard rescue plot toward something resembling an action-on-the-run story, though it falls short of its goal. The storyline seems less strong than those of the initial films, filled with foreseeable developments and missing genuine suspense. The writing has difficulty establishing a compelling narrative thread, which makes it seem like an extra installment rather than a fitting end to the series. The direction uses rapid editing and unsteady action set pieces, occasionally creating a sense of disorder instead of excitement. Certain scenes are effective, but others appear perfunctory. Liam Neeson provides a dependable performance, holding the film together with his familiar screen presence, however, the other actors don’t contribute significantly to improving it. The visuals are adequate but unremarkable; action sequences suffer from excessive editing that obscures what's happening. The musical score is acceptable, yet doesn’t leave a lasting impression. Despite having some entertaining parts, the movie lacks the precise craftsmanship of the first Taken and ultimately feels like an easily overlooked part of the three-film arc.
