Michelle Williams portrays “Margot,” who meets “Daniel” (Luke Kirby) on an airplane after he notices her unusual methods for getting onto the plane first. They connect easily and end up sharing a taxi to their respective homes, discovering they live very close to each other. She is contentedly married to "Lou" (Seth Rogan), but I doubt anyone—married or not—wouldn't find Kirby’s character somewhat alluring. The story isn't about wanting something different, but rather about a quiet and developing connection that avoids excessive emotion and instead explores the complexities of human behavior. It seems to suggest that what functions well doesn't necessarily require repair, although it might benefit from some alteration. However, there's an unexplained issue within the marriage that I found frustrating as the film progressed. Mostly though, this is a thoughtful exploration of people searching for contentment—even when they believe they already possess it—and perhaps suggesting that true happiness may be elusive. Sarah Silverman appears briefly but effectively as the alcoholic sister-in-law ("Gerry"), and Rogan also delivers a nuanced portrayal of a man whose aspirations are shifting without his direct control. The conclusion feels somewhat rushed; the strength of the acting can't easily be maintained, leading to a reliance on physical displays—a significant amount of nudity, but surprisingly little from “Daniel.” It’s humorous and offbeat, with strong writing, and for me personally, it represents one of Williams’ strongest performances.
