This was an unpleasant experience from start to finish, and I won’t be revisiting it, nor would I suggest anyone else do so. The script itself is deeply flawed; both its construction and the development of the characters are seriously deficient. The plot or plots barely manage to get by, though how this project even made it to the screen might have something to do with it. It seems Josh Peck has benefited from connections since his early acting years just to appear in something so poorly made. Tony Revolori is intensely unlikeable; I find myself disliking him even when he’s playing the villain Flash in *Spiderman*, and my dislike feels manufactured, not genuine. Chester Tam could be swapped out for anyone else without making a difference—he doesn't perform badly, but his role lacks substance. Kevin Corrigan is the only male performer who deserves any praise; he delivers an adequate performance that occasionally hinted at what the film might have been if it had been better. The female actors are highlights of this movie. Stella Maeva and Cleopatra Coleman possess engaging characters—they’re strong even without significant roles to play—and they're so thinly written that they seem to be primarily there for their appearance and a minimal amount of acting work. I truly wanted to find something good to say about it, but when the best compliments you can offer are things like “I appreciate x” or "x looks nice," it’s a clear indication that the movie isn't worth your time.
