Jeremy Sumpter, while possessing a certain appeal, doesn’t bring much personality to the role of "Kyle," the son of a questionable billionaire named "Hartmann" (Sebastian Koch). Kyle is shipped off to a secluded Scottish island camp where the children of wealthy and out-of-control individuals are sent. Ed Westwick ("Speck") and several companions devise a scheme to raid this poorly protected location and kidnap these privileged youngsters, demanding a ransom of $1 billion. Their plan initially succeeds, but "Kyle" escapes and discovers an unexpected reserve of strength, enabling him to save his friends and unite them in a team-building effort to defeat the antagonists. It’s not particularly impressive. The film combines elements of "Hunger Games" with "Adventure Game," offering visual appeal but lacking suspense or quality writing, acting, or directing—all contributing to what felt like an extended 100 minutes of inexpensive filmmaking. It's acceptable background entertainment while doing chores like ironing, and that’s essentially its limit.
