It feels like this movie works best when viewed during the holiday season – a period when families often gather, and sometimes regret doing so! The situation quickly goes wrong when "Bernard" (Louis Cheung) presents his girlfriend to his brothers. The problem is that "Monica" (Stephy Tang), his new girlfriend, previously had a relationship with the older brother, "Steve" (Chi-Wah Wong). Things become uncomfortable, but he’s recently met “Josephine” (Ivana Wong), an excellent chef, and she agrees to pretend to be his long-term girlfriend. This whole scenario is encouraged by the playful "Lung" (Charm Man Chan), who's the only one in the group with a serious relationship – with "Meow" (Min Chen Lin). As more people move into their spacious apartment, confusion and mishaps arise, and the brothers soon find themselves struggling to cope. The film incorporates fast-moving dialogue and physical comedy; while some jokes do become repetitive after about an hour, the characters are likable, and watching them deal with increasingly difficult circumstances is genuinely amusing (and believable) as we approach a conclusion that seems destined for trouble. Fish Liew also provides enjoyable moments as the elderly mother whose short, insightful comments often elicit laughter. The movie runs longer than necessary, but it’s still an entertaining experience.
