I regret that I wasn't able to see Swallow in a cinema during its festival run in İstanbul; I’ve been anticipating the movie ever since and frequently discussed how much I wanted to view it. Having finally watched it through VOD, I understand there may be a chance for a theatrical re-release in Turkey, which I will absolutely take advantage of. The film was deeply unsettling—I disliked every moment as it unfolded, yet simultaneously found myself completely captivated by it. The performances were outstanding, and the visuals were strikingly beautiful. Carlo Mirabella-Davis appears to be a director with considerable promise; I’ll definitely be following his future projects, hoping they can reach the same level of quality as Swallow. There were moments when I wanted to avert my eyes, although there's no graphic violence or horror elements—instead, you experience an intense sense of anxiety that consumes you throughout the entire film. It’s rare for me to feel so mesmerized by the closing credits, and this one was both heartbreaking and lovely. I truly love this film. It may not appeal to all audiences, but it resonated with me profoundly.
