'Superman' is the strongest Superman movie I’ve experienced – and I really liked 2013's *'Man of Steel'*, so that's a genuine compliment. I was taken aback by how good this 2025 version turned out to be, because I never once questioned what I was watching; it’s a great two hours. I had seen bits and pieces from some trailers for the film previously, and honestly, wasn't connecting with it then. The main actor seemed a little lackluster, the lines felt weak, and Lex Luthor appeared exaggerated. Fortunately, those concerns weren’t accurate. David Corenswet is an excellent Superman; he embodies the role perfectly. I enjoyed Henry Cavill’s portrayal too, but I think Corenswet maybe edges him out just a bit. It's almost ridiculous to even compare them considering how much I appreciate both actors. For me, Nicholas Hoult is a real highlight as well. This is the best work I’ve seen from him, because I’ve never been completely sold on his performances before. I’ve liked things he’s done, but always with some reservation in my mind. There are no reservations here; he's fantastic as Lex. Rachel Brosnahan and Edi Gathegi also shine, the latter’s character is particularly intriguing because I had never even heard of him until now – hopefully there will be more to come! Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced all manage to make an impression too, which is quite a feat. Everyone on screen delivers a good performance. The story itself is wonderfully entertaining. They made the right choice skipping Superman’s origins; most viewers already know that background so it isn't necessary – and for those who don’t, a brief explanation as presented here is enough to understand what’s happening. Regarding everything else? The rhythm of the film, the visuals, the special effects, the music... all top-notch. I, unexpectedly, have absolutely no complaints about this one; I really enjoyed it and would gladly watch it again anytime.
