This is a really good follow-up! It's a genuinely funny and thrilling Superman film, highlighted by what I consider to be the best sequence in the whole series: the junkyard brawl featuring Evil Superman and Clark Kent, portrayed by the same actor. Richard Pryor brings a lot of laughs as Gus Gorman, who’s an awkward computer expert with a good heart, while Robert Vaughn is effective as the antagonist. The visual effects are also quite impressive. It's considerably more enjoyable than the boring disappointments that followed—namely, *Superman Returns* and what they did with Henry Cavill. I have a clear memory of seeing it in a crowded theater back in '83, and everyone was having a great time – laughing and applauding at all the appropriate moments. And to those who say the movie is too lighthearted—do they forget about Ned Beatty’s character, Otis, in *Superman* and *Superman II*? He's arguably the dumbest person ever shown in these films.
