A descent into insanity threatens a task vital for humankind’s continued existence. It illustrates how flawed reasoning built into our minds can diminish both the quality and purpose of our experiences. The film becomes somewhat convoluted toward its conclusion, incorporating elements of cinematic mysticism that feel disconnected from the otherwise logical themes explored throughout. Despite this, it ranks among my personal favorites simply because few other films attempt to convey such a specific idea.
