The initial portion functions effectively as an intriguing mystery thriller; the rhythm is skillfully managed, and the narrative proves engaging enough to maintain attention. However, around the midpoint, the movie shifts abruptly into horror territory when a possession plot emerges, marking the point at which it begins to decline in quality. It then resorts to familiar horror conventions but neglects to continue developing an absorbing storyline. The director attempted to incorporate background information about the spirit’s origins, yet failed to provide any explanation for its actions. The result is a horror thriller that seems to assume viewers are solely interested in experiencing scares and overlooking narrative substance—a characteristic I don't seek out in a worthwhile horror film.
