London Transport lends a hand as "Don" (Cliff Richard) and three friends rescue an American girl, “Barbara/Bobby” (Lauri Peters), and embark on a European tour aboard a double decker bus. The concept—using the bus as mobile lodging—isn't entirely ridiculous. Simultaneously, her affluent mother, "Stella" (Madge Ryan), is distressed and alerts the authorities to what she considers kidnapping. During their travels across Europe, they encounter some unusual people; for instance, they nearly collide with a mime artist named “Orlando” (Ron Moody), which provides Cliff with chances to sing. While "Bachelor Boy" and the film's title song are likely the most well-known musical moments, there are numerous other short songs meant to entertain viewers and make up for the script’s shortcomings. The lead actor possesses a great deal of charm—it is simple to understand his appeal to young fans—and he receives good support from Peters’ energetic performance and a collection of recognizable British actors like Melvyn Hayes, David Kossof, Una Stubbs, and Ron Moody, who always excels in oddball roles. It's essentially an uncomplicated showcase for a pop singer who is twenty-three years old, and if viewed as such, it proves to be enjoyable.
