I’m finding myself increasingly concerned about how many superhero movies there are these days. It's not really against DC specifically, but it feels like the movie landscape is becoming saturated with them—like pollution or overpopulation on Earth. What’s needed is some balance, but all that seems to matter is making money. I suspect this trend won't last forever; it will eventually fade away as previous ones did in the seventies, eighties and nineties, and a new era of space exploration will begin, which has already started. DC and Marvel, along with others, need to be cautious about how far they push these kinds of stories. As the title suggests, this is not just about the characters; the film itself feels doomed. I'm not claiming it was something that shouldn’t have been made, but the storyline felt stretched out. There were too many drawn-out moments and pauses—basically, wasted time. Another city destruction scene was more than I could handle. And that strange swirling thing in the sky—I wonder how much longer they’ll keep using that visual trope in superhero movies. The supernatural elements didn't work for me; this should have been a straightforward science fiction action adventure. At least Thor came from another planet, which felt like he was an alien, but the witch in this film really put me off. The actors gave decent performances and the graphics were good, including the stunt work. The plot felt very familiar—it reminded me of the animated movie 'Monsters vs Aliens'. It's fine for some casual entertainment; most people won’t declare it their favorite or one of the best films of the year. However, I'm sure there are viewers who will enjoy it. It was a big success at the box office and I don't anticipate any roadblocks to a sequel, but I hope things improve in the next installment. Ultimately, it wasn’t a terrible or dull film; it just lacked that special something that many superhero movies have—making it one worth watching only once. _5/10_
