This film consumed a significant chunk of my time—1 hour and 45 minutes—that I won’t be reclaiming anytime soon. From the beginning, it was clear this project borrowed heavily from the television series "HUMANS," which featured Gemma Chan. However, while “HUMANS” managed to feel somewhat believable, this one didn't even come close. The acting quality was underwhelming, at best. The characters’ actions and responses frequently felt awkward, unbelievable, or simply too obvious. I rarely skip ahead during a movie, but I found myself doing so on several occasions. I had hoped the character of Maggie would meet her end (I've disliked Madeline Zima since "Californication"), but that didn’t happen. Alice, played by Megan Fox, was pleasing to look at, but entirely unconvincing as an android. She would be far better suited to portraying a detached and ruthless psychopath. The movie relies on tired, familiar plot devices, which not only made the story predictable, but also triggered a sense of déjà vu throughout. Overall, I’d give this film a negative recommendation, though Megan Fox deserves some recognition for her attempt at embodying everyone's ideal fantasy android.
