Craig Roberts is captivating as the adolescent “Oliver,” displaying an appealingly playful nature. As is typical for many boys going through those years, he’s preoccupied with romantic interests, specifically "Jordana" (Yasmin Paige). Simultaneously, his mother, "Jill" (Sally Hawkins), deals with her own difficulties related to a strained marriage with the kind but somewhat naive "Lloyd" (Noah Taylor). Things become complicated by the move of her former partner, the alluring and considerably more stylish “Graham” (Paddy Considine), into the house next door.
