It’s a fairly traditional horror film. For those who enjoy films like it, I'd recommend giving this one a try. However, if you don’t typically go for these kinds of movies, you might likely find it disappointing. The plot is undeniably silly. It follows the familiar formula involving chemical waste—in this instance, fertilizer mixed with chemicals—resulting in wasps that transform into something resembling creatures from *Alien*. These mutated wasps then invade people's bodies through stings and produce enormous, killer wasp offspring. Despite its ridiculous story, the movie manages to be somewhat enjoyable. I appreciated that it avoids the typical trope of a group of teenagers partying heavily with drugs. The characters here are actually reasonably smart. There are also several likable characters, which is a departure from what you often see in Hollywood horror films. I particularly liked the older man who almost made it through to the conclusion. The special effects are fairly average, especially when the wasps are shown completely. There are some gory moments but nothing truly remarkable. However, certain aspects were quite absurd and this absurdity increased as the film progressed. The giant burning wasp felt excessively dramatic. As for the ending? I anticipated a standard horror movie resolution—the implication that it’s not really over—but the creatures flying around at the very end pushed the movie firmly into comedic territory. Overall, it's an entertaining horror/comedy and I have to say I preferred this film to several higher-budget “horror” movies from Hollywood recently, primarily because the characters aren’t completely idiotic.
