This is something I could happily watch repeatedly. There’s an incredible amount happening within it: the scrapyard king's experiences with post-traumatic stress from Vietnam, a sex scene reminiscent of "Night of the Living Dead," a strange game involving a detached body part, the junkyard owner’s depravity and the lengths he goes to, the unpleasant deaths, and a brutal police officer. It’s genuinely fantastic, elevated by unexpectedly strong visuals and some thoughtful observations about society. The film feels like Troma filtered through the work of Robert Crumb, with a touch of that 42nd Street grindhouse aesthetic. I strongly suggest this for anyone who enjoys Troma films, movies that push boundaries, sleazy content, and splatter.
