Viewing “Strange Darling,” a film by J.T. Mollner, proved to be quite an interesting undertaking. The movie's structure, employing non-linear chapter divisions, was notably inventive and captivating, demonstrating Mollner’s skill in bringing out the emotional weight of each individual scene. He managed to effectively weave together the timeline with what each section intended to communicate. Nevertheless, I felt that the storyline occasionally lost its way, wandering into areas it shouldn't have, which did somewhat detract from the story as a whole. Giovanni Ribisi’s cinematography was remarkable; every moment seemed carefully composed and beautifully captured. The actors in the main roles—Willa Fitzgerald portraying "The Lady" and Kyle Gallner as "The Demon"—gave truly excellent performances that really made their characters feel real. Even with some problems regarding the plot, “Strange Darling” is memorable because of its unusual approach to storytelling, gorgeous imagery, and strong acting.
