A promising beginning to the series. I refer to it as a start, although whether that’s accurate probably hinges on how you choose to experience these movies—a seemingly debated topic—since I’ve opted for release order, making this my entry point anyway. Given all I'd heard about *‘Star Wars’*, I anticipated something significant, and it didn’t let me down in the slightest. I certainly got a lot of enjoyment out of this! If I weren’t aware that it came out in 1977, I wouldn’t have thought it was from that time; it remains remarkably well-preserved. The special effects are impressive for the most part—even those aspects that haven't aged as flawlessly still appear excellent. The performers are all delightful. To be honest, no one’s performance particularly jumped out at me, but every actor and every character is a pleasure to watch interact. Mark Hamill does well as Luke, Harrison Ford is amusing as Han, and Carrie Fisher shines as Leia. James Earl Jones and Alec Guinness also deserve recognition, among others. Despite only seeing it now, I already knew all of the characters' names—a testament to how enduring these stories are. The storyline makes for excellent viewing; I especially appreciated the pacing. And that score? Amazing! I can’t really find anything wrong with this; I’m sure it isn’t flawless, but I had a very good time watching it.
