Jane Wyman and Marlene Dietrich lead an impressive group of performers in this gripping, captivating version of Hitchcock’s adaptation of Selwyn Jepson's 1948 thriller "Man Running." The story centers on an acting student, portrayed by Wyman, who takes in a classmate, Richard Todd – the man she loves – as police look into the death of his mistress, played by Dietrich. Do you follow? To that, include Alastair Sim, Sybil Thorndike, Kay Walsh and Michael Wilding, and we're plunged into an intricate puzzle filled with unexpected developments and a fair amount of amusement. It does run on somewhat, but it’s still recommended viewing.
