While it doesn’t quite achieve the uplifting feeling I believe Disney intended, there is still a certain kindness to the story being told. The movie draws inspiration from the actual Squanto, but seems to have altered his narrative considerably. To be honest, I wouldn't anticipate anything different; in my view, the primary goal of a film should be entertainment value, and factual accuracy—which can often be less engaging—often gets put on the back burner. It’s not beyond possibility to balance both elements, but that isn’t something I typically look for. Documentaries are where you go if you want strict adherence to facts. The acting is unremarkable; no one truly distinguishes themselves. Adam Beach, who plays Squanto, and Mandy Patinkin as Daniel, would be my choices for the best performances, although Michael Gambon in the role of George is reasonably good. Like many other aspects of the film, it’s just average. I didn't feel that *Squanto: A Warrior’s Tale* dragged on, and I do value the sentiment being conveyed; however, the whole thing isn't very well put together.
