It feels like Leslie Nielsen should have given more thought to being a part of this uncomfortable film. The character names, “Agent Dick” and “WD40,” feel lifted directly from the "Carry On" movies, and much of the jokes and conversations are similarly immature. While it's intended as a "Bond" parody, starting with titles reminiscent of Maurice Binder’s work, the story isn’t even as good as some of Ian Fleming’s weakest stories. Nicolette Sheridan ("Ukrinsky") tries her best in the role of his Russian associate, and they both pursue a not-particularly-threatening “Rancor” (Andy Griffith), who naturally aims to dominate the world—but their adventures frequently devolve into overly silly physical comedy. The charm of the "Drebin" style of clumsy hero, with those goofy faces and lines loaded with double meanings, has already been exhausted; this movie just seems to drag on beyond its stated eighty-minute length. Perhaps it simply highlights how funny the "Naked Gun" series was when it first appeared, but I struggle to find much else to praise about this uninspired and very similar effort at being amusing.
