A man and a woman encounter each other, then the woman discloses something significant about herself—and what happens next is the central question! This film comes as an unexpected pleasure. It’s a romance-drama set against a clever combination of science fiction and fantasy elements. You don't often stumble across low-budget movies this good, so when you do, it deserves recognition. The visuals weren’t essential to its success, as they were used sparingly. Even though corners weren't cut; the imagery was excellent and enhanced the storytelling. The two main actors delivered strong performances. The Italian settings were also stunningly beautiful, and ultimately, the screenplay stood out as a major strength. It tells the story of an American man who travels to Italy after his mother passes away, then experiences a minor event. There he meets an eccentric young research student and persuades her to go out with him. As they grow closer, strange occurrences start to jeopardize their connection. The film largely revolves around them trying to understand these events and explaining them to each other. It’s reminiscent of 'Before Sunrise' blended with a creature feature. I wouldn’t necessarily call it groundbreaking, but it felt new and carefully crafted. If you only go by the movie poster, you might not feel compelled to watch it right away; however, if you decide to give it a chance, most viewers likely won’t regret it. It couldn't realistically be improved upon—it’s already as good as it can be in its simplicity. It's not essential viewing, but I hope those who are reading this don’t overlook this small treasure. 7/10
