What to say about *Spring Breakers*... goodness. This is a truly dreadful film! It seems like it might be trying to mock those movies filled with sex and crime, but as far as I can tell, it’s a sincere effort – which means it's just consistently awkward. There’s not much to comment on regarding the performers, considering both they and the movie are so lacking in quality. James Franco is awful; he delivers one of the worst performances I’ve encountered. The characters played by Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine seem to just repeat themselves, essentially. The film tries to present a certain look and suggest some kind of deeper significance. I honestly can't see how anyone could interpret it that way, but apparently some people consider it successful in those aspects, so I suppose that’s their prerogative. To me, it's simply terrible. I will concede one thing: the scene featuring Britney Spears’ "Everytime" is actually quite well executed. See, I'm not completely negative.
