The question of whether or not seeing Split is appropriate has been circulating, but I'm going to set that aside and focus on the film itself. Anya Taylor-Joy delivers a decent performance, however James McAvoy is truly what makes the movie worth watching. The twist they’d built up was really nothing special, even for someone familiar with M. Night Shyamalan’s earlier films. While I consider it to be Shamhammer's strongest effort in some time, at least since Signs, it's difficult to credit him entirely for its merits. Ultimately, the praise should go to McAvoy, who gives what is arguably his finest performance, aside from his part as the main character in Filth. Final rating:★★★ - I suggest you check it out.
