"Spirited" follows a predictable Christmas storyline. The film benefits from the clear and engaging rapport between Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell, complemented by original songs incorporating their familiar comedic style; Sean Anders has created something pleasant enough to appeal to most viewers. While some of the musical numbers don't quite work, and their placement within the plot occasionally feels off, the conventional storyline doesn’t do much to create unexpected moments. Nevertheless, I appreciated the underlying theme that people are capable of personal growth. Rating: B-
