Following a disappointing experience with 'The Amazing Spider-man 2', Sony chose to allow Marvel to take over the character, and the move proved successful. Previously, in Sam Raimi’s films, Toby Maguire seemed more convincing as Peter Parker than as Spider-Man, and in Mark Webb's movies, Andrew Garfield was a stronger Peter Parker than Spider-Man. However, Tom Holland manages to portray both aspects of the character exceptionally well. There were some drawbacks, particularly during the second act where the pacing slowed down somewhat, but the film does such an admirable job of regaining your interest that it’s easy to overlook those moments.
